Nine people have been arrested in a case of a brutal assault of a resident doctor in Dhule civil hospital. According to the police, Dr. Rohan Mamorkar who was on duty on Sunday night, has suffered multiple injuries and an orbital fracture. He has been admitted to the Jupiter Hospital for treatment.

Police said that a patient with head injury was brought into the hospital. After preliminary examination, the doctors felt that he would need the expertise of a neurosurgeon. However, the hospital did not have a neurosurgery facility due to which the relatives were advised to shift the patient to another centre. This triggered an argument and the relatives got together to attack the doctor.

Doctors across the state have condemned the attack and have demanded strict action against the culprits.
