Shiv Sena to provide free wi-fi in south Mumbai

April 05, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 05:40 am IST - MUMBAI:

The Shiv Sena is all set to gift south Mumbai with free wi-fi internet this Gudi Padwa.

Yuva Sena chief Aaditya Thackeray will inaugurate the service as part of celebrations organised in the SoBo to commemorate the beginning of Hindu New Year on April 8.

The wi-fi service will be made available at places like Chirabajar, Thakurdwar, Girgaon, Phanaswadi, Vyankatesh Temple, Dhobitalao, Fort Market, Colaba Market, Colaba Machhimar Nagar and Khetwadi. “We are beginning it as an experimental, but will expand it based on the response,” Pandurang Sakpal, Sena zonal leader from south Mumbai, said.

Spots where the router will be located are mainly hangouts of the younger generation, which the party hopes to cash in on. “The password for the service will be sent to the mobile when an attempt to connect to the service is made,” he said.
