The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday concluded its arguments opposing media executive Peter Mukerjea’s bail application in the Sheena Bora murder case.

The agency’s lawyer Bharat Badami opposed the second bail application filed by Mr Mukerjea, who is currently lodged in Arthur Road Jail, stating he was a part of the conspiracy to murder Sheena and that their investigation is in progress.

Mr Mukerjea’s first bail application was rejected because the agency claimed the investigation was in progress and it was a few days away from filing the supplementary charge sheet. He was arrested by CBI on November 19 and has been in judicial custody since December 1 Earlier, Judge HS Mahajan allowed CBI’s application to further interrogate Indrani Mukerjea, prime accused in the murder, for four days at Byculla jail. The special CBI court has adjourned the matter for orders.
