Anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare on Monday once again declared that he would return to the Ramlila Maidan in Delhi soon to demand the Lokpal Bill.

“My life is a struggle. I have taken an oath to fight for the betterment of the country and society, which was the path taken by Gandhiji. Development and fighting corruption are the two ways chosen by me,” he said as he released the poster of his biopic, Anna , at the ISCKON auditorium in Juhu.

Delighted at the release of the film made on his life, Mr. Hazare said the biopic will help disseminate his views and work in India and abroad. He said, “In the last twelve years, about eight lakh people from across the world have visited my village, Ralegan Siddhi, to witness our work. Now, because of the film, it would be seen by billions more.” he said.

Talking about his lifelong struggle, Mr. Hazare said it’s not impossible to achieve what he has, but it needs uncorrupted, honest leadership. “I am now 79 years old, but I have enough energy and enthusiasm to fight for a better world. I never allowed anything to corrupt me,” he said. Replying to a question on whether his bête noire Arvind Kejiriwal features in the film, Mr. Hazare said many people joined him for the struggle against corruption, but he was unaware of their intentions for doing so. “If I had known about their bad intentions, I would have asked them to leave the team,” he said. However, neither filmmaker Shashank Udapurkar nor Mr. Hazare confirmed or denied if the Delhi Chief Minister features in the film.
