A state of general alert was declared in Mumbai on Saturday following the attacks in Paris. Police officials said that the alert was declared as a precautionary measure, as Mumbai has always been a sensitive city from the terror point of view.
"Nakabandis and random checks are being conducted across the city and police presence has been increased at vital installations and places that witness high number of footfalls," said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Detection) Dhananjay Kulkarni.
