Mumbai: A Madhya Pradesh resident, who had come to Mumbai for treatment, was found to have committed suicide near Lokmanya Tilak Terminus railway station on Wednesday morning.
According to the Nehru Nagar police, the deceased has been identified as Mahendra Sahu (33), a native of Sagar district, M.P. He was being treated at Bhabha Hospital in Kurla.
At 7:30 a.m., residents of Sable Nagar, parallel to the railway tracks near LTT, saw his body. A police team found papers of his case history in his pocket, which helped them identify him.
“We found a suicide note in English in his pocket, in which he had said that no one should be held responsible for his extreme step,” an officer with the Nehru Nagar police station said.
Sahu’s body was taken to Rajawadi Hospital in Ghatkopar for post-mortem. An accidental death report has been registered, while inquiries are on to find out a motive behind his suicide. No indications of foul play have come to light in the investigations, the police said.
“We have informed Sahu’s family in Madhya Pradesh, and they are expected to reach the city soon,” senior police inspector Sanjay Kale, Nehru Nagar police station, said.
