Mira Road, Bhayandar to get Metro

Mumbai: With eyes on the civic polls, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Wednesday announced extension of the Metro till Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation, which will go to polls in May. Bhiwandi Nizampur City Municipal Corporation, which too is going to polls in May, is already part of the Metro.

“As per the earlier announcements, Metro 2 and Metro 7 have last stop in Dahisar. Now, these metros will be extended till Mira Bhayandar corporation,” Mr. Fadnavis said in the Assembly. “The current route of Metro 2 is from Colaba to SEEPZ and it is going to be extended till the airport, covering D.N. Nagar, Dahisar and Andheri. The Colaba-Bandra-Seepz is an underground project at a cost of ₹23,136 crore,” he said.
