Navi Mumbai: The Vashi railway police have arrested a 32-year-old man for allegedly trying to push his 40-year-old live-in partner off a local train on Friday evening.

Mohammad Abdul Hameed Jaliya Shaikh, a resident of Sai Nagar in Rabale, was living with Sunita Prakash Rokade. Shaikh suspected Rokade, who works at a factory in Mahape MIDC, for having an affair with her colleague. On Friday, Shaikh went to Rokade’s workplace and saw her talking to her colleague. The couple boarded a train to Rabale at Ghansoli station. “The victim got into the ladies compartment and so did Shaikh. After the train left Ghansoli station, he pushed her out of the train. She received injuries on head and mouth,” said senior police inspector Suresh Patil of Vashi railway station. The accused was arrested.
