Navi Mumbai: The Koparkhairane police have arrested a man for raping the wife of his friend, who died last year. The accused has been identified as Hiten Mahendra Thakkar (28), a resident of Sector 5 in Koparkhairane.
A police officer said, “The woman had kept her dead husband’s Facebook account active and the accused began chatting with her online. The accused gave the victim money to pay the school fees of her two daughters. The two often chatted on WhatsApp too.”
Mr. Thakkar asked the victim to come to his house on Monday to meet his mother. However, when she entered the house, only the accused was present. He then raped the victim and took pictures of her.
