The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray brought master blaster Sachin Tendulkar and singer Lata Mangeshkar together at his home on Sunday for the first time after they were awarded the Bharat Ratna.
“I am a big fan of Lata didi. I always wanted a memento from her in my house and today Raj has organised the event to fulfill my wish,” Mr. Tendulkar said.
“Sachin is my favourite cricketer and I felt really sad when he retired. It's a very happy moment for me to be with him,” said Ms. Mangeshkar.
Ms. Mangeshkar gifted the cricketer two photo frames with handwritten lyrics of two songs. In return, Mr. Tendulkar presented her with his cricket jersey, thanking for her blessings and support throughout his career.
“They had expressed their wish to me and I was planning this program for some time now. It's an honour for me to host two great Indians at my house,” said Mr. Thackeray.
