Mumbai: The Vile Parle police have booked a Juhu resident for allegedly cheating businessmen to the tune of ₹91 lakh. The accused, identified as Rajesh Shah, owns a factory that manufactures radiators in Jogeshwari.

The complaint was registered by Bharat Modhiya, a diamond merchant from Vile Parle, on Saturday. Mr. Modhiya has said that he became acquainted with Mr. Shah in 2014. Mr. Shah had asked for ₹10 lakh, saying he had imported a consignment of copper which was stuck because he was unable to pay the Customs duty.

Mr. Shah said, “The allegations against me are false and baseless.”
