Offering prayers: Members of the Parsi community participate in a ritual at Della Tower in Dadar on Thursday.

Three high priests —Dr. Firoze Kotwal from Mumbai, Khurshed Dastoor from Udwada and Cyrus Dastoor from Surat — and 14 other priests from the Parsi community on Thursday enthroned the holy fire in a small room in Della Tower in Dadar.

The fire, known as the dadgah saheb , is now open for all community members to offer prayers. The grand tower, designed on the lines of Persian architecture and ancient Achaemenian style by architect Jimmy Mistry, was crowded with community members who came to witness the rituals.

“It is rare to have three high priests together with so many other eminent priests. Everyone would want to witness the occasion,” said Khushnoor Wadia, a resident of the tower.
