HC takes note of The Hindu report on migrants

The Bombay High Court on Friday asked the Maharashtra government and the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation to file a reply on the “pathetic condition” of migrants from drought-hit Nanded living in Mumbai.

A Division Bench of Chief Justice D.H. Waghela and Justice M.S. Sonak took suo motu cognisance of an April 16 report published in The Hindu which highlighted the deplorable condition of some 200 families. They had moved to Mumbai from Mukhed tehsil in Nanded due to severe water scarcity.
