November 03, 2014 01:29 am | Updated 01:29 am IST - MUMBAI:

A power fluctuation at Terminal 1 led to the disruption of normal check-in for around a dozen domestic flights at Mumbai airpott on Sunday afternoon. It took the airport authorities 45 minutes to restore normality and bring the situation under control.

“There was power shut fluctuation at 1.45 p.m.. By 2.30 p.m., the systems were restored,” an airport official told The Hindu .

Airport authorities told The Hindu that there was voltage fluctuation at Terminal 1, from where the domestic flights take off. “This led to power being shutting down for two to three minutes. The security system shuts down the power supply to the servers to prevent any data loss,” he said.

Power was restored immediately and the servers were rebooted in 10 to 12 minutes. But till that time, check-in and other related processes had come to standstill.
