A minor fire was reported on the ninth floor of the Reliance-owned Antilia Building on Altamount Road on Monday night. Officials said the fire was quickly brought under control and no casualties were reported.

According to Mumbai Fire Brigade officials, the fire broke out in the garden. Three fire tenders and three jumbo tankers were sent to the spot. “The fire was brought under control within 10 minutes and there were no casualties,” said Chief Fire Officer Prabhat Rahangdale.

Fire officials said the in-house firefighting team at Antilia had already brought the blaze under control to some extent using extinghuishers by the time the fire tenders arrived. The fire officials then cut off the electric supply to the building and doused the fire completely. It was confined to a 4G antenna and the plastic framing of the garden on the ninth floor. “There was a small fire in the garden area of Antilia this evening, which was quickly brought under control. No one was injured. The cause of the fire is being investigated,” said a Reliance official.

The Gamdevi police, meanwhile, had deployed bandobast around the building to help with crowd control and traffic management, said Mumbai Police officials.
