On the occasion of second death anniversary of Sena founder late Bal Thackeray, the Shiv Sena, which is neither in nor out the BJP fold, once again raked up the issue of the political validity of the trust vote secured by the first BJP-led minority government in the state.

The Saamna , mouth piece of the Sena, bemoaned that Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis government's trust vote drama in Maharashtra assembly has turned the state’s pride into a `pile of garbage'.

“The new government was at the receiving end of abuses, more than the Congress-NCP received in last 15 years, after the mockery of trust vote. People’s aspirations, dreams were turned into trash within moments. Is there any broom that can be used to clean up this mess?” it asked on Monday,

However, the Sena which is hopeful -- despite the cold approach of the BJP -- of a face saving deal with the latter on its role in the state government, chose to remain silent on what the BJP or the government should do to redeem the situation. The Congress has petitioned the state Governor C. Vidyasagar Rao asking him to direct Mr. Fadnavis to seek a fresh trust vote from the Assembly.

On Friday Sharad Pawar, whose party the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has extended unconditional support to the BJP led government joined others in criticising the manner in which the whole trust vote exercise was carried out.

Mr. Fadnavis, whose party is short of 22 members in a house of 288, cleared the trust vote on last Wednesday through voice vote. The Sena and the Congress have charged the newly elected Speaker with overruling the demand for a ballot voting in the face of demands.

“Maharashtra’s power is supported by the corrupt NCP.  Do those BJP ministers who were sworn in have a right to dream about Maharashtra’s development?” asked the Saamna editorial.

The editorial said that all decisions of the government will be taken after the consent from Delhi. “Sena was tied to different communities with the Hindutva string. They were coming to us to solve their problems. Balasaheb worked day and night to protect them. But this time they turned their back. The reason for this is that their region is in their blood,” it said.

Adding that the Sena is not angry over this behaviour, it warned them that the people from different communities will realize their loss only when they will face difficulties.

“We are not interested in introspection of what has happened before. But those who brought this time on us should not be hopeful from our side”.
