This 2014 French drama follows the story of a 30-year-old marine named Alice. She goes out to sea on an old cargo ship named ‘Fidelio’ while leaving her husband Felix at home. As a replacement engineer on board, Alice is almost surrounded by an all-male crew and learns that the ship’s captain is Gael, her first love. This film challenges traditional gender roles and is Lucie Borleteau’s feature directing debut. Greek actress Ariane Labed won the Best Actress award at Festival del film Locarno. This is a free screening.
