The French-Belgian film directed by Martin Provost and written by Marc Abdelnour and Provost, is the story of French painter, Séraphine Louis and German art collector, Wilhelm Uhde. The latter, tired of the hectic city life, rents an apartment in a city near Paris in order to write and take a break. Séraphine, the housemaid and the laughing stock of the entire town, is around 40 years old, and seems rather rough natured. One day, as Uhde walks into his landlady’s house, he notices a painting lying around. He is only pleasantly surprised to hear that the artist is none other than Séraphine. This is a free screening.
