Mumbai: Lincoln Coelho, husband of gynaecologist Dr. Kiran Coelho, went missing in Bandra on Sunday morning and returned home late on Monday evening.

The Bandra police said Mr. Coelho left his residence at St Andrews Road at around 9:50 a.m. to attend Sunday prayers at St Theresa’s Church, which is some 500 meters away.

“Mr. Coelho never reached the church and his family registered a missing persons complaint with us,” said Sanjay Kadam, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Bandra division. Mr. Coelho’s family also took to the social media, sharing his picture and their contact numbers, and seeking any information about him. The post went viral throughout Sunday and Monday, and the Bandra police, too, were scanning the feed from CCTV, but with no leads.

Sort of amnesia

However, late on Monday evening, Mr. Coelho returned home unharmed, but could not offer an explanation as to where he had been. “Mr. Coelho is home safe, but with not much recollection of the past 24 hours. It is a sort of amnesia. We will run tests. Thank you so much for your prayers, help and support,” said Dr. Coelho on Monday evening.

An officer with the Bandra police said in keeping with the procedure when a missing person is found, Mr. Coelho’s statement will be recorded after he has undergone tests and is confirmed to be fit.
