The Bombay High Court has granted interim protection to Bollywood star Deepika Padukone and restrained the Mumbai police from arresting her till March 16 in the AIB Roast obscenity case. Deepika’s counsel Ameet Nayak said: “My client had sought interim protection from arrest, and it was granted by the Division Bench comprising Justices Ranjit More and Anuja Prabhudesai on Wednesday.”

Mr. Nayak argued that the actress was merely a spectator, and questioned the application of several sections in the FIR under Indian Penal Code, Information Technology Act, and Maharashtra Regional Town Planning Act.
