Mumbai: Fugitive underworld kingpin Dawood Ibrahim’s brother Iqbal Kaskar was having biryani and watching Kaun Banega Crorepati on TV when the Thane Police landed up to take him into custody. The unexpected arrival of the police team at his sister Haseena Parkar’s residence in Nagpada apparently stunned Mr. Kaskar, who reportedly asked them, “ Maine kya kiya hai (what have I done?)”.

The police team gave him time to finish his meal, an officer said. “It was around 9.15 p.m. when Thane Police’s Quick Response Team (QRT), equipped with sophisticated weapons, raided the residence in Gordon Hall Apartments on Sophia Zuber Road, Nagpada.” He said three others present in the room were also taken into custody after Mr. Kaskar had finished dinner.

The officer said Mr. Kaskar and the others were whisked away in private vehicles before anyone in the area came to know. During the approximately 40-km drive to Thane), he added, Mr. Kaskar demanded to know the charges against him.
