Cops, Ajay Devgn join to fight bank fraudsters

Mumbai: Faced with rise in incidence of people falling prey to fraudsters claiming to be bank officials and stealing details of debit and credit cards, the city police have made a video with actor Ajay Devgn to create awareness. In the video, Mr. Devgn asks people to not reveal information about their cards.

In the latest incident, Manju Chandramohan Chopra, 36, of Sameep Apartment in Juhu, was asked by a fraudster posing as a bank employee to share her debit card PIN, saying her card number will have to be linked with her Aadhaar card, failing which her debit card will be blocked. Scared, she shared the details. Within a minute, ₹26,000 was withdrawn from her account. She blocked the card and filed an FIR at DN Nagar police station.
