Case against Priyanka Chopra’s brother

July 15, 2016 02:46 am | Updated 02:46 am IST - Pune:

The city police on Thursday registered a case against Bollywood actor Priyanka Chopra’s brother, Siddharth, for reportedly making hookahs available in a ‘no-smoking zone’ near his lounge.

Mr. Chopra owns the pub ‘The Mugshot Lounge’ in the upmarket Koregaon Park area in Pune. During a raid, the Koregaon Park police seized 18 hookah pots and flavoured tobacco and subsequently served notices on 16 persons under the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act (COTPA) for smoking at an unauthorised area.

This is not the first time the pub was having a brush with controversy, the Pune police or illicit activity.

This May, the Crime Branch raided the lounge and arrested 10 businessmen for allegedly betting on the IPL match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders. A significant amount of cash and mobile phones used for betting were retrieved during the raid.
