Tie-up will expose Indian startups to Silicon Valley entrepreneurs and investors

City-based seed investment and innovation platform Venture Catalysts has tied up with global incubator and seed fund Plug and Play to help Indian startups get exposure to Silicon Valley entrepreneurs and investors.

Based out of Silicon Valley, Plug and Play reviews over 4,000 startups every year and invests in more than 100 new ventures annually. The association between Venture Catalysts and Plug and Play will see Indian companies being exposed to strategic opportunities to connect with potential partners, investors and mentors from around the world. Indian ventures will be instructed about the various facets of the startup business by leading global domain experts. “India, despite registering rapid start-up growth, is at present lacking in early-stage support for upcoming ventures. This results in nearly 85-90 per cent of Indian startups shutting down within the first few years of their operations. This is where this partnership with Plug and Play comes into picture. By leveraging Plug and Play’s proven expertise in accelerating startup growth, we will be exposing Indian startups to strategic opportunities from across the globe,” Apoorv Ranjan Sharma, Co-founder, Venture Catalysts, said in a statement.

“Our association with Venture Catalysts is perfectly timed as the startup culture in India is touching new heights. VCats is a welcome move towards bringing synergy in the startup ecosystem identifying fresh talent as well as nurturing them,” Yael Oppenheimer, International Operations Manager, Plug and Play said.
