The Bombay High Court on Thursday discharged Rinkie Khanna, daughter of deceased superstar Rajesh Khanna, from a case of domestic violence filed by Anita Advani, alleged live-in partner of Khanna.
Rinkie Khanna is married and settled in Kolkata.
The court had earlier observed that she had no role to play. On Thursday, Ms. Advani's lawyer conceded the point. The court thereafter quashed the proceedings against her.
Ms. Advani had filed a complaint in a lower court under provisions of Domestic Violence Act. She had registered the complaint against ex-wife of Rajesh Khanna Dimple Kapadia, daughters Twinkle and Rinkie, and son-in-law Akshay Kumar. She had also sought maintenance from the family.
Ms Advani had claimed that she tended to Rajesh Khanna in his last days, and that she was ill-treated by his estranged wife and family.
Dimple Kapadia and her family members had thereafter approached the Bombay High Court seeking quashing of proceedings against them.
The court will now hear the matter on April 8.
