Bollywood actress of the 90s, Mamta Kulkarni, was detained and her husband reportedly arrested in a drug trafficking case by the police in Kenya on Thursday.
A senior official from the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) here told The Hindu that while the report of her detention seems to be true, there has been no official communication received by the agency yet. According to the official, Ms. Kulkarni’s husband Vicky Goswami was arrested in Kenya in a drug trafficking case. “The actress has been detained and is being questioned by the authorities to ascertain her role,” the source said.
According to reports, in 1997 Mr. Goswami was arrested by the Dubai police for trafficking of banned substances. Subsequently, a Dubai court sentenced him to 25 years of imprisonment but he was released last year.
