In a high-profile exit, former MP Bhaskarrao Patil-Khatgaonkar on Thursday resigned from the Congress. He is the brother-in-law of former Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan.
According to sources, Mr. Khatgaonkar is expected to join the BJP. The Nationalist Congress Party is also facing an exodus of second-rung leaders, many of them opting for the Shiv Sena.
