The State Cabinet on Wednesday gave mega project status to Centre for Perfect Health, which will come up on 264 acres of land at Vahangaon in Pune at an estimated cost of ₹1,000 crore.

The project undertaken by Maharshi Vedodhharak Foundation and Maharshi Vedic Health Private Limited will comprise a unit to manufacture ayurveda medicines, a wellness centre, a meditation centre, a yoga study centre and an ayurveda medical college.

The State government sanctions mega project status to projects with an investment of over ₹500 crore. The project will integrate the tourism, industry and medical education departments of the government and give a boost to tourism, employment generation and development of the area.

The Centre for Perfect Health has entered into a joint agreement with the Netherlands-based Global Country of World’s Peace, which is known for its ancient knowledge of ayurveda and health.

A government official said, “The mega project status was granted as per the criterion of tourism and industry policy of the State since it crossed the mandatory ₹500-crore investment mark. More concessions as per the policies of the three government departments will be made available.”

About ₹200 crore will be invested for manufacturing ayurveda medicines, producing aroma and medicinal oil, setting up a centre to process produce from organic farming and building a cold storage.

As per the proposal, ₹200 crore will be invested to construct an integrated medicine centre, an ayurveda medical college, and a training centre to teach ayurvedic medical practices. Around ₹500 crore will be invested in set up a vedic and educational park, a wellness centre, a ved research centre, and for organic and ayurvedic farming
