The city police have arrested three more youths in connection with the killing of R. Praburaj, 23, during a clash between two gangs at Kunduparamba here.
As many as 20 persons have either been arrested or remanded in judicial custody so far. Those arrested on Friday were Sanjay Babu aka Sanju 21 of Kakkattuthazham, Edakkad; Sarath Babu aka Sarath 21, of Edakkad and Sabinesh aka Sabi, 20, Mannathan Pozhiyil, Edakkad.
The case related to Praburaj of Kattuvayal Colony, Nadakkavu, being hacked to death during clashes between the hostile gangs at around 8 p.m. on September 8. His friend, Thariq, 23, of Arakkinar, had sustained serious injuries on the head and neck in the violence.
The murder of Praburaj was the result of a rivalry between two karate-kickboxing clubs in the city. Cases had been filed against 35 persons, said, K.B. Venugopal, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Kozhikode city. They will be produced before the Koyilandy First Class Judicial Magistrate Court on Saturday.
