Wrong address: candidates miss exam

June 29, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:37 am IST - Kozhikode:

At least a few students, who were supposed to attend the National Eligibility Test (NET) of the University Grants Commission (UGC) on Sunday, could not take the exam due to a wrongly printed address of the exam centre on the admission ticket.

Makazul Uloom English School Kondotty in Malappuram district was the UGC’s centre for the NET examination for several students from north Kerala on Sunday.

However, the name of the district, where the school is actually situated, was given wrongly as Kozhikode instead of Kondotty in Malappuram district, causing confusion to several candidates.

More than half of the time scheduled for the exam was over for many students in trying to trace the location with the help of the pincode number, which was given correctly on the ticket.

Those who missed the chance to attend the exam properly are planning to approach the commission seeking another chance for the test, sources said.
