A 25-year-old woman was found dead with a deep gash on her neck in a rented house at Thalikkarayil in the limits of Kuttiyadi police station in the district on Saturday morning. The victim was identified as Bindu hailing from Velloorkulam near Chelakkara, bordering Thrissur and Palakkad districts. Preliminary investigation indicated that her husband, Lalu, and his mother, Thankamani, were suspected of killing Bindu.
Both of them, along with the couple’s three-year-old child, were missing. A search had been launched for them, the police said.
Investigators said Bindu could have been violently attacked with a knife that resulted in her death. She was found in a pool of blood in the morning. Neighbours had reported that they had heard noises from the house at night.
