The organisational report adopted at the three-day State plenum of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPI-M] in Palakkad last month was presented at the north zone regional conference of the party here on Thursday.

CPI(M) State secretary Pinarayi Vijayan presented the report at Gujarati Hall here in the morning. The closed-door meeting was meant for members of the district committee, area committee, and secretaries of the local committees in Kasaragod, Kannur, Kozhikode, Wayanad, and Malappuram districts. More than 1,000 party functionaries took part in the meeting from 10.30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The report called upon party workers to adhere to Communist value systems, sources said. They should dissociate themselves from religious and caste organisations. The plenum had adopted a resolution stating that party workers should not become office-bearers of religious institutions. They had been asked to bring more members of minority communities into the party fold.
