January 22, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:42 am IST - Kozhikode:

Vehicular traffic will be regulated on several roads, including State and national highways, in the district beginning Thursday. This is either to take up repair works or other construction activity.

The Pooladikunnu-Malaparamba stretch of the Kozhikode Bypass on the national highway will be closed to traffic from January 22 to 30. Vehicles coming from Atholi to Kozhikode should take the Eranikkal- Puthiyangadi route and vehicles from Kakkodi-Balussery should take the Thadambattuthazham-Karapparamba route, the National Highway Authorities executive engineer said here on Wednesday.

Vehicles would be regulated on the stretch from Koyilandy to Thamarassery on State Highway No.34 for redrawing lines, lane marking and zebra crossings on the road. The regulation would be in force till the completion of work, the executive engineer, Public works Department (roads division), said.

Likewise vehicular traffic would be banned on the Chathamangalam-Peruvayil road from Friday for taking up the construction of a culvert. The curbs would be in force till the completion of work.

Vehicles from REC should take the alternative REC-Temple route and from Chathamangalam, the Chathamangalam-Vellanoor- Ishtika Bazaar route to reach Vengeri Madom- Peruvayil road, the executive engineer, PWD, said.
