Guided trip through forest at Rs.1,000 per head

This summer is going to be a hectic affair for the Vana Samrakshana Samiti (VSS) members at the Thusharagiri eco tourism centre which is all set to offer a guided tour to adventure trekking enthusiasts at an affordable rate.

The guided trekking will offer sightseers a chance to cover nearly six km on foot, experiencing the beauty of the dense forests, a number of small waterfalls, and rivers on the way.

Till advent of monsoon

Trekking by a group of 10 members will be encouraged under the package, the VSS members say.

The fee is Rs.1,000 per head and it includes food and guidance. The package will be available till the advent of the monsoon season. The VSS members hope that they will be able to attract the student community during this summer vacation season.

Nature clubs and tourism clubs attached to various educational intuitions across the State have been the main beneficiaries of the trekking package.

As all the members of the Vana Samrakshana Samiti are very familiar with the territory and are experts in guided tours, the trip will be quite an enjoyable one for the trekkers, they say.

The summer season is the best time for trekkers as attacks by leeches will be minimal during the season, they say.

The District Tourism Promotion Council (DTPC) also supports the Vana Samrakshana Samiti in its initiative and will organise a monsoon tourism trip, named ‘Mazhayatra,’ with the support of the VSS later.

The Vana Samrakshana Samiti members say there are several sightseers who regularly visit the spot during summer holidays and enjoy trekking in the spot along with their family members. For registration, call: Ph: 9747345402.
