Those named in the judicial commission report on the solar scam should resign from their current posts and apologise to the people, Communist Party of India State secretary Kanam Rajendran has said.

He was addressing a public meeting organised by the Left Democratic Front (LDF) here on Tuesday.

Mr. Rajendran said that the commission report vindicated the allegations levelled by the LDF. Politicians were supposed to uphold certain values in public life and those in the United Democratic Front should resign from their posts.

Electricity Minister M.M. Mani said the solar judicial commission was appointed by the UDF government and the LDF had no role in it.

He said that the LDF government had examined all legal angles before announcing a probe into the panel’s recommendations, he added.

P. Mohanan, CPI(M) district secretary, was present.
