Tenth edition of Kuttettan awards announced

The 10th Kuttettan Awards instituted by the Kunjunni Anusmarana Samithi has been declared. Ajmal Khan, a Plus Two student from Muvattupuzha, Ernakulam, has bagged the award in the short story category while Rahmathunnissa from Pandikkad, Malappuram has bagged the award for poetry. Anjali Krishnan, a B. Ed student from Areekode, Malappuram, bagged the award for essay on the topic ‘Challenges to humanity’.

The awards are being given to participants of ‘Ezhuthupura’, a literary camp held in Kozhikode on May 26, as part of the birth anniversary of poet Kunjunni Master. The awardees were selected by a committee comprising poet Alankode Leelakrishnan, Kunjunni Master’s niece Usha Keshavaraj, and writer Latheef Parambil. The awards will be presented by writer M.T. Vasudevan Nair during the programme, ‘Kunjunni Smrithi’, to be held in Kozhikode in the last week of June.
