Script writer Deedi Damodaran, who is also an English teacher at the College of Applied Science functioning under the Institute of Human Resources Development (IHRD) at Kiliyanad here, has been served a show-cause notice for participating in the ‘Kiss of Love’ protest in the city last month. S. Sheela, the IHRD director-in-charge, has sought an explanation from Ms. Damodaran why disciplinary action should not be initiated against her for allegedly participating in the activity. The action was on the basis of a letter sent by a parent of a student of the college to the director.Ms. Damodaran had publicly hugged her husband Premchand to express solidarity with the protest on December 7.
