A survey of private medical institutions has begun in the district.

Those registered with the Health Department and offering treatment in allopathy, ayurveda, unani, siddha, homoeopathy and naturopathy are being surveyed by the staff of the Department of Economics and Statistics.

The survey is mainly aimed at calculating the contribution of the private medical sector to the State’s revenue. The number of private medical institutions and the medical and paramedical staff there are being collected. The facilities available at outpatient and inpatient departments apart from the modern medical treatment being offered are gathered. It is being examined if they have proper waste disposal systems.
