The fourth edition of Rain Walk organised by the Vadakara educational district drew the active participation of around 2,500 students from various regional schools on Saturday. The event, conducted with the support of SAVE (Student Army for Vadakara Environment), covered 7 km downhill through the Kuttiyady ghat road.

Coordinators said the journey began from the Valanthode forest check post and ended at St. Joseph’s Lower Primary School at Poothampara. The participants were also awarded certificates for making the event a success, they added.

Organisers said the participants would attend the forthcoming Wayanad Rain Walk to explore the beauty of the Wayanad pass. Last year, they missed the opportunity as both the events were hosted on the same day, they said.
