District Collector U.V. Jose has asked the Education Department to ensure the safety of school buildings ahead of the upcoming academic year.
At a meeting here on Thursday, the Collector directed the officials to check if annual maintenance works had been completed. Proper hygiene should be ensured in toilets.
The officials were also asked to coordinate with parent-teacher associations and local organisations for the smooth conduct of curricular and extra-curricular activities.
