July 21, 2017 01:06 am | Updated 01:06 am IST - Kozhikode

The merchants of S.M. Street are all set to reverse the sluggish business atmosphere in one of the main cultural landmarks in the city. In the pipeline are grand programmes to mark Onam celebrations and a gift coupon scheme for consumers during the season. In a press release here, Ummarkutty Kariyil, secretary, S.M. Street Merchants’ Association, said that a meeting was held on Thursday to chalk out future plans.

Decorative lights will shine throughout the street in the run up to Onam. Coupons would be distributed among consumers who purchase goods between August 15 and September 15.
