SIO flays Kerala's stance on EFLU

October 15, 2013 10:57 am | Updated 12:40 pm IST - MALAPPURAM:

The Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO) has accused the State and Central governments of trying to scuttle the English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU) campus proposed at Malappuram.

A meeting of the SIO secretariat here on Monday criticised the stand of MPs and Union Minister of State for Human Resource Development Shashi Tharoor on the EFLU issue, especially as the State government had handed over the land to EFLU authorities about a year ago.

It demanded that Chief Minister Oommen Chandy clarify his stand without resorting to equivocation on the matter.

The SIO has decided to give shape to the second phase of agitation if the government went ahead with its “apathetic stand.”
