Signing off with mimicry

January 22, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:53 am IST - Kozhikode:

A serial crackle effect was what N. Raveena created on the mimicry stage at the State School Arts Festival here on Wednesday.

The Kozhikode girl, trained by Kalabhavan Pradeep Lal, took the audience to an astounding world of sounds, where they saw the confetti of the art in full bloom.

Based on an inventive script, the high school student opened the show with a series of latest socio-political incidents and agitations in the State.

The twists in her presentations came like a tourbillion when she did a spoof on ‘Nilpusamaram’, with a clear intention to mock at people who resort to the recent mode of stir for mere publicity.

She also came up with a series of power-packed dialogues mimicking some popular Malayalis. The audience burst into laughter when the ‘remarks’ of Shashi Tharoor, K.R. Gouri and Olympian P.T. Usha on diverse themes were aired to them with a high mix of fun.

The girl from G.G. Model HSS, Chalappuram, took the last number leaving a long willow effect featuring the ‘singing’ of Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, Leader of the Opposition V.S. Achuthanandan and Congress leader K. Muraleedharan.
