Minister for Panchayats and Social Justice M.K. Muneer has directed the district administration and the Revenue Department to wind up the District-Level Purchase Committee meetings by November 14 in such a way to start the land acquisition process for the widening of the Mananchira-Vellimadukunnu road.

Dr. Muneer issued the direction while chairing a district-level review meeting at the Collectorate on Saturday. On completion of the purchase committee meetings, the Collector would also be responsible for submitting the final report to the State-level Purchase Committee to complete the land acquisition works.

Addressing the meeting, Dr. Muneer affirmed that the land valuation process for widening the road would be completed the current year itself.

“The land details which were not included in the recent notification by the Revenue Department would be directly handled by the Collector for further clearance,” he added.

The dates for the two forthcoming land purchase committee meetings too were fixed on Saturday.

As per the official schedule, the two meetings would be held at the Collectorate on October 24 and 25.

At Saturday’s meeting, M.K. Raghavan, MP, A. Pradeep Kumar, MLA, District Collector C.A. Latha and officials from the Public Works Department and others were present .
