An effective regulatory mechanism was needed to control the functioning of self-financing colleges in Kerala, Speaker P. Sreeramakrishnan said here on Sunday.

Mr. Sreeramakrishnan said that the regulatory mechanism was actively under the consideration of previous governments.

But the proposals regarding this had been scuttled with the involvement of external interferences.
