Registration begins for The Hindu Young World painting contest

The Hindu Young World painting competition season is on. A popular event eagerly awaited by schoolchildren, the competition is held in two categories: Junior (Classes IV to VI) and Senior (Classes VII to IX). Registration has started, and the closing date for receipt of preliminary entries at The Hindu office in Kozhikode is January 25.

The registration fee for every individual contestant is ₹100, and for bulk registration through schools (for a minimum of 50 contestants), the fee is ₹50 for each contestant.

To register, one could log on to www.thehindu.com/ ywpainting and follow the instructions.

On completion of registration and payment process, a unique ID will be sent to the registered email ID or mobile number. The unique ID should be quoted, along with address and other details, in the entries. The entries, certified by school authorities, should be sent to The Hindu, 4th Floor, Kadooli Towers, Vandippetta Junction, West Nadakkavu, Kozhikode — 673 011.

The entries should also include paintings. Participants can pay the registration fee at The Hindu office in Kozhikode. The contact numbers are: 0494-2762202 and 2762201.

The final of the competition will be held on February 4. Those selected based on their preliminary entries will be intimated through email or SMS.

Prizes will be presented to winners the same day.
