The Rajasthan Grameen Mela, which began at the Comtrust ground near the Town Hall here on Wednesday, has a large variety of handicrafts and handloom products on display.
From camel leather footwear to beautiful quilts with hand-embroidery and mirror work, most of the products on display are rarely seen in Kozhikode at any expo.
For handloom enthusiasts, there is a wide range of traditional garments such as the evergreen Bengal cotton saris, Kantha work products, hand-embroidered bed-sheets and dress materials, saris and other articles with Lucknow chikan work, Kashmiri embroidery, kutch work, readymade brocade kurtas, Banarasi silk saris, readymade layered skirts, kids garments and so on.
In the handicrafts section, there are a variety of products made of metal, wood and ceramic. Jaipur bangles, Chennapattanam toys, precious stone jewellery and spices are an added attraction.
The exhibition will conclude on April 16.
