Water loggingTorrential rains that continued for the last two days caused major problems of water logging and traffic jams in the city.
Many of the arterial roads were under water on Monday. Recurrent showers from morning to evening and at night virtually threw city life out of gear.

Commuters had to face hardship following the water getting stagnant at the Mofussil bus station. Private buses and State-owned Kerala State Road Transport Corporation that reached the station had difficult time to get out as vehicles began to back up.
The water logging was so problematic that commuters found it hard to enter even the Mofussil station from the Mavoor side.
The situation was similar on the Pavamani road and Sreekanteswara Temple road especially at the northern and southern sides.
The roads at Palazhi, Pottamal, Kommeri, Meythottuthazham were also waterlogged. Traffic was disrupted on these roads for many hours due to the heavy rain.
Several families residing in these areas were also unable to come out of their houses following the water logging in their compounds.
Residents at Palazhi complained that overflowing drains had prevented their children from going to school. Traffic came to a halt at Paiyadimethal.
Wall collapsesThe compound wall of the Cyber Park constructed by the Uralungal Labour Contract Cooperative Society collapsed resulting in damage to some houses in the area.
The road at Palazhi was virtually blocked for several hours in the morning. The residents now fear that some of the bricks and rocks stuck midway during the collapse would fall on the houses at any time.
