District Collector Rathan Kelkar called for inculcating love for the mother tongue and a passion for learning it, in order to protect Malayalam.

Inaugurating a symposium organised in connection with the administrative language week observance here on Tuesday, the Collector said there should be collective efforts for the e-publishing of Malayalam books.

It would allow the younger generations and Malayalis living outside the State to access books. The event was organised by the district administration in association with Information and Public Relations Department.
