Over 41,000 campaign materials removed in Kozhikode

As many as 41,742 campaign materials of candidates and political parties, installed at public places violating the model code of conduct, have been removed so far.

The flying squads constituted for monitoring the model code of conduct removed them from public institutions, buildings, walls, and electricity and telephone posts.

Expenditure

The expenditure for removing them will be calculated in the account of the candidates.

The squads will intensify their work in the coming two days, C.A. Latha, District Collector, who is also the district election officer, said here on Monday.

Facilities arranged

Basic facilities such as drinking water, toilet, ramp for physically challenged, and resting room for senior citizens will be arranged in all the 1,883 polling stations in the district.

Priority

Pregnant women and the elderly will be allowed to exercising their right to franchise first.

There will be also 13 model polling stations apart from the 1,883, one in each Assembly segment, an official release said here on Monday.
